Computer Engineer/Software & Hardware Designer
Research, design, develop, and test enterprise-grade appliances, contributing to all phases of development and support, including requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, benchmarking, and performance tuning. Build, test, and modify product prototypes/feasibility models using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation and evaluate them technically. Lead in the solution of complex technical problems. Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems. Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements. Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications. Complete models and simulations, using manual or automated tools, to analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions. Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and need for security restrictions to determine hardware configuration. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout. Communicate project information, including concepts, data, and recommendations, to management via informal design review. Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS
Knowledge of (1) Data Structures, (2) Algorithms and their implementation in hardware and software, (3) VLSI Design, (4) FPGA, (5) ASIC, Embedded Systems, (6) Hardware Design, (7) Computer Architecture, (8) System Verilog hardware automation, (9) UVM methodology, (10) Embedded Processors architecture including (11) MicroBlaze, (12) MIPS, and (13) ARM; and (14) Xilinx Design Tools: (15) ISE (16) EDK (17) SDK (18) XPower and (19) Vivado, (20) Design of RF devices including Amplifiers, Coupler, Splitter, Phase-shifter, Divider-Combiner, and LNA.
2 years of Experience in (1) hardware and software co-design to perform multithreading, (2) C/C++ development in a Linux/Unix or .NET environment on Windows Server; (3) Object Oriented Design and Programming; (4) working with lab equipment including Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generators.
